December 18th, 2021 was the official count day for the Cheyenne Christmas Bird Count.  The morning was very cold but the wind was calm, providing a good opportunity to bird.

Thirty-six (36) species were counted on December 18, 2021.  Species highlights includes Wilson’s snipe, Eastern screech-owl, Belted kingfisher, Downy woodpecker, Northern shrike, and Song sparrow.  Five additional species were identified during the count week.
